Columbia University’s CPiA team attended a breastfeeding celebration in August hosted by Staten Island University Hospital’s WIC program. CPiA was invited to speak to the audience of mothers and children about sun safety, the dangers of indoor tanning, and HPV vaccination. Attendees were provided with free sunscreen, SPF lip balm, and educational information about sun safety and HPV vaccination. Our team had many meaningful conversations about how to protect children from the sun and reduce skin cancer risk. We reached both English and Spanish-speaking families, as there were translators available on site.
