CancerWise Café, hosted by Stony Brook Cancer Center
Stony Brook Cancer Center experts will discuss the latest advances in screening, prevention, diagnosis, management, and treatment of several types of cancer, including breast, lung, blood, head and neck, gastrointestinal, gynecologic and skin. The event will take place from 9am to 3pm at the Charles B. Wang Center on Stony Brook University campus.
Attendees can also eat, learn and chat with Cancer Center healthcare staff, view educational displays, and visit the community organization resource tables. Free lunch is included.

Coming Out Day at the Farm, hosted by Suffolk County Farm & Education Center
Celebrate National Coming Out Day with Stony Brook Medicine and the Suffolk County Farm!
Join us for wagon rides, pumpkin picking, animal visits and feeding, crafts, costume contest, dance party, snacks, beverages and more. CPiA will join Stony Brook Medicine to provide cancer prevention education & supportive resources for all.

Closed session for the Women’s Affinity Group at Dime Community Bank. This workshop includes best practices in the prevention of breast, cervical, and other cancers that affect women and people assigned female at birth.

Head & Neck Cancers: Know the Facts, hosted by hosted by Nassau Library Health Share
Join health educators from Stony Brook Cancer Center to learn about head and neck cancers. Tobacco use, alcohol use, and Human Papillomavirus (HPV) infection are the most common risk factors for head and neck cancers. We will be discussing causes of head and neck cancers and the importance of prevention.

Cancer Prevention Education for Suffolk County’s Teen Pregnancy Advisory Board Meeting
Closed session for the Suffolk County Teen Pregnancy Advisory Board. Health educators from Stony Brook Cancer Center will speak to board members about the importance of cancer prevention as it intersects with teen pregnancy. Topics will include Human Papillomavirus (HPV), a common sexually transmitted infection (STI) that can cause six types of cancer, and more.
