St. Lawrence County Health Initiative

This March, St. Lawrence County Health Initiative’s CPiA Team participated in the North Country Kids Expo, which was held at the SUNY Canton “Roo’s House”. Naturally, the organizers emphasized the importance of family fun and hands-on experiences. CPiA had two activities at their table: an interactive board with sun safe accessories and bracelet making. With the board, kids were able to swap out fun and colorful sun safety accessories for the two characters on the board. There was a variety of hats, sunglasses, bottles of sunscreen, and umbrellas to choose from. For the bracelets, they used UV-reactive beads to teach children that, when the beads change color, they need to take care of their skin. Over 160 children stopped by the table and made bracelets. It was a great day of sun safety and smiles!
